Sean and I officially moved into our new place in Socal and it's feeling really... nice. After being on the go, so unrooted for SO many years, I am finally accepting stability into my life. I am finally exhaling. I am finally embracing what is. I've had some big realizations about the meaning of home and how much weight I've put on places in my life. I recently declared that I want to be free from any shackles of attachment. I want to simply be home in myself, wherever I am.
It's starting to feel like it's happening.
1. Bright spaces.
Our spot is the brightest, most window-filled place. As someone who is extremely light-sensitive (I need a ton of it to feel good and stable), I feel like we hit a home-run. Light pours in from all angles and keeps my mood so much more elevated. I feel so lucky and grateful.
2. My HigherDOSE PEMF Mat.
I've had this for a couple of years and I can't tell you enough how much I love it. It's like a heating pad on steroids. PEMF stands for "Pulsed Electromagnetic Field," which helps ground the body in the earth's electromagnetic field. It gives the same benefits as earthing (standing barefoot on the ground), but when it's cold, wet or snowy, you can do it from the comfort of your own seat or floor! We NEED this for regulating. It helps with anxiety and depression (especially if you get it seasonally like me). Infrared heat is emitted from this mat which is deeply-penetrating and doubles your dose of recovery and detox. To top it all off, there's a layer of healing crystals that emit negative ions, which boost your mood and neutralize free radicals in the body.
Potential benefits include:
• Reduced stress
• Increased energy
• Better sleep
• Improved circulation
• Improved muscle recovery
I meditate on mine, read on mine, work on mine - seriously, I am addicted to it. I spend so many soothing hours on it, it's worth the price. Get yours here. Get 20% off with code: FLASH20 between 2/16/24-2/19/24.
3. Work Your Light Oracle Deck by Rebecca Campbell.
This is my go-to oracle deck. It blows my mind every single time with its accuracy. It's also beautiful.
4. Plants at Costco.
Did you know you can get a big, beautiful, billowing tropical plant for literally half the regular price at Costco!? What the hell have I been doing all my life!?
5. Millwood furniture.
I can't believe I'm saying this because I grew up in a small town called, Mill Valley that was all about Millwood and I literally hated it growing up. Suddenly, I'm all about this very natural home décor look where the wood is all unfinished, natural, raw. I want it to look fresh out of the mill. I just got a super cool coffee table and everything on my Pinterest board matches.
6. Essential oils on my yoga mat.
An oldie, but a goodie. I got this tip from my favorite girl, Yoga with Adriene. A few drops on my mat of whatever essential oil I'm vibing with before practice really set the tone, helps me feel present and brings a fresh, pleasurable energy. Also, did you know the pores of the feet are the largest in the body? That makes them a great place to place essential oils for their full benefits, which happens inevitably on your mat.
7. High Vibe Face Mist by Mukama Botanica.
I'm really proud of this product and I seriously notice a difference in my skin when I don't use it. I made it to boost your skin and your mood. It's a pH-balanced potion made with high vibe ingredients and aromatics (rose water, tangerine, sandalwood) and inspired by sacred Hawaiian plant healing. This misty facial toner is made to balance, clear and improve your skin’s radiance. Obviously it's 100% eco, organic and natural because #selflessselfcare.
8. Cloud gazing.
I woke up the other morning to a break in the rain. The sky was blue with fluffy white clouds. From my bed, I started my day watching them float. It was about five minutes of my time, but it seriously started me off on the best foot. I felt better than I had in months... just watching clouds.
9. Telling people how I'm feeling, not what I'm thinking/a story.
A theme for the past few weeks has been about dropping my stories and just addressing the feeling. The feeling is what wants to be addressed anyway. It's how we heal (feel to heal). Lately, I've been trying to tell my friends and family how I feel. It's way more vulnerable and every part of me wants to explain and overshare, but really, all that matters here and now is what's here now: if the feeling exists, share. It breeds intimacy, compassion and healing.
10. Dinner parties/hangs.
I hung out with a bunch of my older cousins and their friends the other week. We ate pizza and talked story (as they say in Hawai'i). We just hung out and ate in a house. And that is my love language.
11. Buffalo sauce.
Always, forever. I love you.
